V-8 '86 GT

SOLD

Archie rebirthed this 86 for me in March/April of 1999. I purchased the car new at a dealer in Pompano Beach in 1986 and has lived in south Florida ever since. It was stolen from my driveway in May of 1988 and found ten weeks later with a smashed steering column and less the radio/tape player. I was lucky to get it back. The car was repainted two years ago. Current mileage is about 106K. It was and still is a daily driver.

The car has a LM1 350CID in it now, and it goes like hell! Its the fastest thing I have had since since my 69 Plymouth hemi. The conversion included dumping the original automatic for a five speed Isuzu. Archie also put a rear sway bar on it which has dramatically improved the handling.

The tires are Sumitomos (Japanese Dunlops). On the front are 215 x 45s and in the rear we have 245 x 45s - lots of rubber. The wheels are TSW Blades. I saw the Blades Archie has on his choptop and fell in love with them. Very cool wheels.

Its fun to drive, and if you don't hear the roar its quite a sleeper. Word has gotten around the neighborhood's rich kids with their Mustangs to stay away from me.

Archie did an excellent job with this car. The engine compartment is clean, hoses routed for good looks as well as functionality, and all harnesses are in new black corrugated tubing. There is less exposed wire now than there was when the car came from the factory! Archie even gave me a choice of engine colors!
