7) Final Installation of Engine into the Car

Once we have all the assembly done that we can do outside the car, it's time to install the engine into the car for the last time. Time to re-install all the suspension pieces to the cradles. Remove the engine cradle assy. From the "Work Bench" and after taking a few pictures like these put it back under the car prepare to lift it into position. On this project, as we were getting ready to final mount the engine into the Fiero chassis the last of the TPI parts came in via UPS. So our earlier plan to install the engine into the car as a carburetor assembly (and later switch to TPI) has changed and we decide to install the TPI unit now. We removed the original intake manifold and replaced it with the TPI base manifold. Now is the time to install the new LT. injectors. We have also replaced the original non-TPI distributor with a TPI distributor. Here we have completed the TPI installation on the engine, with the exception of the throttle plate, and are now ready to install the engine into the car.

The engine is in the car and we are connecting items such as the wiring as we discussed before. Also remounting the Slave cylinder, shift cables, throttle cable, suspension, brakes, hand brake cable, power brake and cruse vacuum lines, CPV valves etc. to the engine.
